About the Artist
Deborah is a "self-taught" artist. She dabbled in calligraphy, tole painting, and brush and pastel work in her early 20s. After a couple of years of retirement in 2022, Deborah felt like, "I picked up where I left off from my 20s." She has always been drawn to color, nature, and creative expression. As a retired teacher and amateur photographer, she spent decades capturing the seascapes, landscapes, flowers, and changing light she encountered while hiking and traveling in the United States and beyond. Today, that same appreciation for the natural world finds a new expression in her hand-painted clay pots.
Using acrylic paints, Deborah transforms ordinary clay pots with bold floral designs, bright contrasting colors, and playful combinations that make each piece unique. Her interest in color psychology inspires her choices, particularly the way vibrant colors can influence emotions, lift spirits, and bring positive, vibrant energy
Whether displayed indoors, on a patio, or in a garden, Deborah creates her colorful pots with a simple purpose: to liven up people’s surroundings and brighten their moods through the joyful power
